Is my photo uploaded?

No. The photo is resized and compressed by your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so it works for ID photos and documents.

Why does the photo look smaller in pixels?

If a size limit cannot be reached by compression alone, the tool also reduces the pixel dimensions a little, keeping the shape of the photo.

Which formats work?

JPG, PNG and WebP. The result is saved as JPG, which is what most upload forms ask for.
